英国的生申法学教育主体主要划分为：综合大学的法学院、独立的请条法学院以及在职培训机构三部分。大多数国际学生申请的英国研究都为综合性大学的法学院，这些法学院大都提供了三种法律学硕士学位：LLM、法学MA和MSc。专业在英国读法律研究生一般修读的生申课程是LLM(一年制授课式法学硕士)，基本都需要相关的请条本科专业背景或较长时间的工作经验，对成绩要求也比较高。另外的一些法律相关授课式硕士最后授予的可能是文学或理学硕士学位（如布大的MA Law），这一部分的学位大都不需要法学基础，但可能需要相关领域的经验。
